INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIO ON INTERACTIVE AVATARS – FHGR UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES OF THE GRISONS

30.10.2025

In October, Artstübli Kunst & Kultur became the venue for a special academic studio: students of the Joint Master’s Programme Digital Communication and Creative Media Production from FHGR UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES OF THE GRISONS and the UNIVERSITY OF FRIBOURG presented the projects they had developed within the studio “Interactive Avatars in Informational and Entertainment Contexts.” Working in interdisciplinary teams, the students designed 3D avatars capable of natural language interaction through the integration of various AI-based services. The project is linked to the FHGR research focus “Life-like – Intelligent Avatars for Immersive Communication.”

The presentation offered a striking example of how scientific research, technological innovation, and artistic practicecan productively intersect. The studio highlighted the versatility of our cultural space as a site for exchange, creative experimentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Warm thanks to all participating students, lecturers, and partners for the inspiring exchange.
