    The association was founded in 2023 to support the long-term development and transformation of the Artstübli art and culture space. As a platform dedicated to experimental, urban, and interdisciplinary art, the institution is guided by an interdisciplinary board composed of professionals from the arts and cultural sector. The implementation of its projects is carried out by an executive management team together with a creative curatorial team.

  • Artstübli – Kunst & Kultur was founded in 2022 by Philipp Brogli to ensure the long-term institutional development of a...

    Artstübli – Kunst & Kultur was founded in 2022 by Philipp Brogli to ensure the long-term institutional development of a visionary platform originally initiated in 2014. Since its establishment, Artstübli has evolved into a key hub for contemporary, urban, and interdisciplinary artistic practices.

     

    Initially rooted in the discourse of urban art, the institution has continuously expanded its curatorial scope since 2022 to include installation-based, culinary, and performative formats. With the introduction of the labels ARTYOU Installation, ARTYOU Culinary, and ARTYOU Performance, the association pursues a holistic approach that bridges artistic expression across conventional genre boundaries.

     

    The association’s core mission is to create an open, inclusive space for creative encounters, dialogue, networking, and emerging talent development. A particular focus lies on supporting young artists and emerging curators by offering a professional platform for the realization of innovative ideas and projects. Participatory programmes not only foster dialogue between local and international actors, but also encourage new models of collaboration.

     

    Artstübli - Kunst & Kultur positions itself as a dynamic, process oriented cultural space. Its programming is developed and implemented collaboratively by an interdisciplinary team in partnership with artists and collectives. Exhibitions and accompanying formats are themselves conceived as forms of collective artistic expression. In pursuit of a sustainable cultural landscape, the association initiates and maintains targeted collaborations with institutions, project spaces, and research bodies both locally and internationally. A strong emphasis is placed on regional networking within the city of Basel and on cross-border exchange within the-trinational region.

     

    The renewal of the lease agreement with Edith Maryon AG until 2029 secures the long term presence of Artstübli - Kunst & Kultur at its location on Steinentorberg 28 and highlights the institution’s enduring commitment to Basel’s cultural development.
