Timo Paris lives and works in Basel. His practice operates between drawing, performative research, and urban movement culture. At its core is the translation of bodily movement into line, alongside an expanded understanding of drawing as a time-based practice. In May, Artstübli Kunst & Kultur becomes a temporary studio. During his residency, Paris develops a large-scale drawing on site, conceived in direct relation to the dimensions of the space. The process remains continuously accessible, shaping the space as an open site of production.
The work is part of his long-term project The Living Line, which understands drawing as movement, trace, and social form. Lines emerge from embodied practice and become starting points for exchange and collaboration. In this way, an open system unfolds, evolving through time, encounter, and spatial displacement.
The project is conceived as a process-based situation. Visitors are invited to follow the development of the work on site and to return to the space over time. Public dance sessions extend the format, activating the space as a site of shared practice in connection with the local breaking scene.
Public dance sessions (6–9 pm):
