PIERRE-ALAIN MÜNGER / SIMON BERGER – Defect

5 April - 22 June 2019
Overview

Pierre-Alain Münger (1977, Solothurn) has been studying the process of a crash since 1993. He is interested in the deformation of metal and the resulting release of forces inherent in every object. Through deformation, these forces become visible and the existing forms are preserved forever. His sculptures are a product of this long-standing work focusing on the transformation of collapsing constructions.

Simon Berger (1976, Herzogenbuchsee) shows the creative talent that he was previously able to live out as an urban artist. He took the spraying of faces to a new level. Leftover materials such as wood, sheet metal parts, glass and more are now his new materials. Through their own means of expression, faces are developed into portraits that bear witness to the intensive confrontation with materials as a means of design.

Together, the artists run a workshop at Artstübli for the duration of the exhibition, where they create new works with their craft skills and combinations of materials.

This process can be followed live and in real time.
