Stefan Winterle

Overview

"Since 2002 he has been applying the technique of cutting and painting stencils from which he paints photorealistic motifs."

Stefan Winterle was born in 1976 in Lörrach, Germany. The beginnings of his art lie in the triregional graffiti movement of the 90s. Since 2002 he has been applying the technique of cutting and painting stencils from which he paints photorealistic motifs. Winterle's artistic range is as diverse as his interests. These can be inspired by political events… or walking the dog. His works have been shown in Europe, the USA, Australia, Asia and the Middle East. Stefan Winterle was awarded the Markgräfler Kunstpreis in 2011 and took over the artistic direction of Colab Gallery in the same year. In "Pfadansichten" Winterle shows works of imaginary street scenes and images, which are partly painted on concrete elements, such as curbs and cobble stones.
