Philipp Brogli
DIRECTOR – CURATION, COORDINATION & PROJECT MANAGEMENTRead morePhilipp Brogli completed a 4-year apprenticeship as a Desktop Publisher (image processing) at the Basler Zeitung, at the same time completing a vocational baccalaureate with a focus on art history and design. This was followed by two years of further training as a project manager at the Bern School of Design. Most recently, he worked part-time as a film editor and technical director in an agency before devoting himself entirely to the various tasks as director at Artstübli.
In 2014, Philipp Brogli created Artstübli, a platform that reflects all contemporary facets of urban art and culture. In 2014, Artstübli moved into 125 m2 of space in the circular buildings of the Markthalle Basel. In addition to specially curated exhibitions and events, Brogli and his team arrange and coordinate façade paintings, interior designs, event appearances, guerrilla actions and interventions, and lead authentic urban art tours with guides.
Since 2022, Brogli has been expanding the space with installation, culinary and performance art, which is no longer exclusively in the context of urban art. To support this transformation, he founded a non-profit association in 2023, which curates and coordinates the accompanying exhibition formats and event programs.
Through his commitment and joint efforts, the art and cultural space has established itself as a forum for quality and communication that promotes stylistic diversity and interdisciplinary collaboration. Artstübli is thus a lively venue that is jointly shaped by various artists, curators and actors.
